OPTICAL TRANSCEIVERS

OPTICAL TRANSCEIVERS

net4com Optical Transceivers SFP, SFP+, XFP

The SFP, SFP+ and XFP are optical transceivers for high-speed computer networks. SFP modules (Small Form Factor Pluggable) are compact, hot-pluggable transceivers used for both telecommunication and data communications applications. They are compliant with MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) speci cation and are designed to support Ethernet, Fibre Channel and other communications standards (e.g SONET, GPON...).

Because SFP modules can be easily interchanged, the network can be upgraded and maintained at any time. Optical and copper models can be used on a wide variety of products and intermixed in combinations on a port-by-port basis. SFP optical transceivers via single mode  ber can reach a distance of up to 80 km. The user have a  exible and cost ef cient solution for enterprise networks and data center.

DOM/DDM (Digital Optical Monitoring/Digital Diagnostics Monitoring) is a technology used in SFP transceivers in order to give the end user the ability to monitor real-time parameters of the SFPs. SFP+ is an enhanced version of the SFP that supports data rates up to 16 Gbit/s.

SFP is an industry format produced by many network component vendors. Many manufacturers restrict their devices to accept only SFP modules of the same brand, as identi ed by their vendor ID. net4com SFPs are generic modules, that are programmed to show the appropriate vendor ID.

net4com SFP optical transceivers cover the entire range of SFP across data rates,  bre types and distances. They are available in different wavelengths using 850nm up to 1550nm - for Ethernet, Fibre Channel, SONET/SDH, CDWM, DWDM, Ultra-Long Distance. In addition net4com can supply tuneable modules for use in DWDM applications covering bandwidth up to 100 Gbit/s.
